Questions for Online Students

Are online students required to have all the immunizations listed
for on-campus students? Yes, all students must have the immunizations required.

Which fees are online students required to pay if they are NOT
attending another USG campus? Students who live more than 30 miles outside of Augusta can have their
activity, wellness and health fee waived. All students pay the
technology fee.

How do online students obtain a student ID badge? Students will have to come to campus to get an ID badge.

How do online students register for classes? Students should call the Registrar's office to be cleared for
registration. Once cleared, they will be transferred to the cashier to
pay their fees. They can call at their regular registration time (706)
721-2201.

Are the new students able to access their tuition bill online? New students can access their bill online. Instructions for doing this
are in the online orientation. Bills will be available approximately 10
days prior to the first day of class.

What are the hardware and software requirements
for the online program?

Proprietary browser versions (those not downloaded directly from
Netscape or Microsoft) may not work reliably with online systems. If
you use other “Office” type programs, please note that some professors
may require you to convert your files to a MS-Office compatible format
for online submission. Your connection to the Internet may initiate
behind a firewall; however, the firewall settings may have to be
adjusted to allow for proper functioning of our Web-based tools.
Requirements for using online WebCT courses

To access a course(s), student should go to
http://www.curriculumii.mcg.edu/webct/public/home.pl, and then
log in to MyWebCT. All courses to which you have been given access
should be listed. If you have trouble logging in or courses are
missing from your list, contact:

Students should
review the “Orientation to WebCT” prior to beginning their first
online course. The orientation is available via the CD you received
in the mail and in MyWebCT.

Students taking
online courses are expected to communicate with the course
instructor by email
and/or the course bulletin board on a regular
basis.

Students should
visit each course they are enrolled in and monitor the bulletin
board and email
at least twice per week.

Solutions to common technical issues/problems are available via the
“Read this First” icon present in all courses.

Students are
responsible for maintaining current virus scan software on their
personal computers. Files should be scanned before uploading into
WebCT or sent via email
. Files containing a virus will not be
accepted.

Students should
disable Pop-Up Blocker software and Personal Firewalls to allow for
accessibility of all WebCT course materials. Failure to do so may
result in the inability to access pertinent course information and
assignments.
