Department of Family MedicineConferences
FAMILY MEDICINE MORNING REPORT
is held weekdays before center hours.
The conference includes discussion of patients admitted during the previous day and those
seen after hours. Interesting clinical cases are often topics of conversation and
learning. All residents and faculty are encouraged to participate actively. FAMILY MEDICINE NOON CONFERENCES are held Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Outside speakers and MCG faculty and residents cover a wide range of topics, including series on preventive health and geriatrics. These conferences are an excellent opportunity for residents to draw from the experience and expertise of the clinical and research faculty in other departments. (It is partly due to positive relationships with other departments that we enjoy productive interactions with our consultants.) Conferences are varied in format to include didactic lectures, journal clubs, morbidity and mortality conferences and medical "Jeopardy" games. This variety provides additional intellectual stimulation. Residents are required to attend a percentage of conferences in accordance with accreditation guidelines.
