Plastic Surgery Faculty
Dr. Jack C. Yu, is
Professor of plastic surgery and Chief of Plastic Surgery. He completed medical school at the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his residency in general surgery and plastic surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Yu also completed his Craniofacial Surgery fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Yu is board certified by the American Dental Association, Northeast Regional Board in Dentistry, American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Yu is the Chef of Pediatric Plastic Surgery as well as the Director of the MCG Craniofacial Center at the MCG Children's Medical Center and currently heads the monthly Cleft Lip and Palate and the Craniofacial programs at MCG.
Dr. Kenna S. Given, is
Professor and Chief Emeritus of plastic surgery Emeritus. He graduated from Duke University School of Medicine, where he also completed a residency in plastic surgery. He completed a fellowship in hand surgery at the University of Louisville in Kentucky and completed a surgery residency at Emory University and Grady memorial Hospital. Dr. Given is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is Director of the American Board of Plastic Surgery President-Elect of the American Association of Academic Chairmen in Plastic Surgery, former Chair of the American Board of Plastic Surgery, American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, former President of the Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation, Member of the Residency Review Committee Council for Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Educational, Member, Residency Review Committee for Plastic Surgery, Former President Elect, Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons and Secretary of the American Secretary of the American Association of Plastic Surgeons.
Dr. Gloria M. Gamboa, is
Associate Professor and completed medical school at the University of Federico-Villareal. She completed her residency in general surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University in Virginia and a residency in plastic surgery at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Dr. Gamboa also completed her Breast and Aesthetic Plastic Surgery fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and her Breast and Soft Tissue Tumor fellowship at National Institute of Neoplastic Disease in Peru. She is board certified in
Plastic Surgery, Microvascular Technique and General and Oncology Surgery.
He is active in the mathematical modeling of cranial morphogenesis and is
currently NIH-funded.
Dr. Edmond F. Ritter,
is Associate Professor of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He
completed medical school at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr.
Ritter completed a general surgery residency at the University of Medicine and
Dentistry of New Jersey, and went on for his plastic surgery residency at the
University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Ritter then completed a fellowship
in Microvascular Surgery at Duke University Medical Center. He is board
certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic
Surgery. Dr. Ritter is currently acting as a member of the Regulatory
Evaluations Subcommittee, the Government Relations Committee, and the Visiting
Professor Committee for the American Society of Plastic Surgery. He is also a
member of the Plastic Surgery Research Council, and his clinical interests
include microvascular reconstructive procedures and general plastic surgery. Dr.
Ritter joined us on March 7, 2003.
Dr. R. Christie Wray, is Professor of plastic surgery, and completed medical school at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. He completed a general surgery residency at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, Virginia and a plastic surgery residency at John Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Wray is certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery; in addition, he has a Certificate of added Qualifications in Surgery of the Hand. He is former Director and past Vice-Chairman of the American Board of Plastic Surgery, former member of the Residency Review Committee for Plastic Surgery, and former President of the Association of Academic Chairman of Plastic Surgery. He is currently Treasurer of the American Association of Plastic Surgeons. His clinical role at the Medical College of Georgia is Chief of Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery.
