Federalwide Assurance (FWA)
The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Office for Human Research
Protections (OHRP) regulations apply to all research in compliance with the
institution’s federalwide assurance (FWA). This means that all research is
treated the same way regardless of funding source or status. If you were at
another institution previously that did not require all research to be treated
the same way, please contact our office for guidance.
