Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center Research Team Member Educational Requirements

• Any research team member involved in studies conducted at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center must complete the HAC required education and the VA education requirement. In order to fulfill both institutional requirements, researchers should complete the following:

  Initial Certification:

  MCG
  Research team members must complete CITI before the institution will approve their involvement in a research study.  VA researchers should choose the “VA Research” Learner Group (Group 6) in CITI. This learner group also contains the VA required Good Clinical Practice (GCP) modules. You must register under the Medical College of Georgia to access this learner group.

  Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center

  Researchers must complete the VA Good Clinical Practice module which is also found in CITI under Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center or they may register under MCG and choose Learner Group 6 which contains the HAC and VA requirements.

   

  A copy of the completion report must be submitted to the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center Research Administration Officer (24) office.

         Recertification:

  MCG
  VA Researchers must recertify using the CITI Refresher course annually.

  VAMC
  Researchers must recertify by taking the VA GCP Refresher Course in CITI annually.
