The Office of Human Research Protection (OHRP) provides an internal monitoring function and educational forum for the Medical College of Georgia to assure that all clinical studies utilizing human subjects and/or human derived materials comply with federal, state and institutional regulations and policies to protect research subjects, the university and the research team.

Our primary objectives are to:

  • Provide education and training to faculty, staff, students and Human Assurance Committee (HAC) members regarding the conduct of all studies that involve human subjects and/or human-derived materials
  • Provide administrative support to the HAC and to facilitate information flow between the Chesapeake Research Review Inc. (CRRI) and the institution
  • Conduct audits of all studies involving human subjects and/or human-derived materials

Our goal is to facilitate research while providing the highest standards of human research protection via education, training, and compliance oversight.

We encourage research team members to contact us with any questions, scenarios or feedback.
