Pathogens
Human and Animal Biosafety Level 2 Pathogens can
cause disease in humans and are transmitted by ingestion
as well as percutaneous or mucous membrane exposure to
human or animal body fluids or tissue.

incubation, and harvesting of eggs and
tissues. Animal Biosafety level 2
practices may be used to house
experimentally infected animals except
for arthropods and flying squirrels
(which require Animal Biosafety Level
3). |

manipulation of tissues is conducted at
Biosafety Level 3. Workers must report
any febrile illness promptly. |
