Senior Faculty Positions

Department of Biostatistics

The Department of Biostatistics at the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) invites applications for tenure-track or tenured senior faculty positions. We seek true team players with nationally recognized scholarly accomplishments in biostatistics or related areas, and who will contribute significantly to the growth of the Department and its interdisciplinary research base. Candidates should have a strong record of methodological and collaborative research, a history of extramural funding support, and a strong interest and experience in teaching and mentoring graduate students. A background in cancer research, clinical trials, epidemiology or statistical genetics is highly desirable.

The Department of Biostatistics at MCG is housed under the School of Graduate Studies, and has strong collaborative partnerships with the MCG Cancer Center, and the Schools of Allied Health Sciences, Dentistry, Medicine, and Nursing. The Department offers an M.S. degree in Biostatistics, and plans are underway to start a Ph.D. program. A Masters program in Clinical and Translational Research and a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology are also being developed. The Department is undergoing major expansion to support various research initiatives at MCG, including those of the Cancer Center, the Center for Biotechnology and Genomic Medicine, the Georgia Prevention Institute and the Sickle Cell Center. Successful applicants for these new faculty positions will join a highly interdisciplinary group and will play an integral role in the ongoing expansion of biostatistics research and graduate education at MCG, as well as in making vital contributions to leading-edge basic, translational, and clinical research endeavors. Applicants should hold a doctoral degree in biostatistics, epidemiology, statistics or a closely related field, and be qualified for appointment as Associate or Full Professor at MGC. The search will remain open until positions are filled.

Interested persons should send a curriculum vitae, brief statement of current and planned research, and names and contact information of at least three references to:
