Vehicle Services provides the following automotive services:

Preventive Maintenance Inspections (PMIs)  
Unscheduled Repairs and Customer Assistance  
Fuel and Lubricant Dispensing  
Vehicle Wash Bay  
Administrative Support Services  

Preventive Maintenance Inspections (PMIs)

During a PMI our mechanics perform a "48-Item Service Check", of the vehicle's engine compartment, exterior, interior, undercarriage, and special equipment.  Usually a PMI is completed in one day.  If it becomes necessary to retain the vehicle pending a repair or item replacement, the vehicle user will be notified.

Fleet users are notified of the scheduled "PMI Service Date" by campus e-mail.  A return form is included with the notice for vehicle users to write down problems and/or concerns that need attention during the service.  The vehicle user returns the form with the vehicle at the time of the PMI.

Unscheduled Repairs and Customer Assistance

Typically, these type of repairs and services are:

  • Flat tires
  • Dead battery
  • Lights burned out
  • Out of gas
  • Out-of-town trip checkouts
  • Processing new/used vehicles
  • Processing surplus/salvage vehicle and equipment
  • Off-campus repairs and accident repairs
  • Windshield and window replacements

To report vehicle problems and/or request service and information call the Automotive Service Desk, between 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, except holidays (EST).

After normal business hours call the MCG Police Dispatcher, at (706) 721-2911, for assistance.


Fuel and Lubricant Dispensing
 

The Medical College of Georgia utilizes the Wright Express Fuel Management System for re-fueling services.  Vehicle operators use a Fleet Vehicle Card with an individualized Personal Identification Number (PIN) to access the Wright Express system.  Vehicle Services issues each MCG vehicle a specific Fleet Vehicle Card, and each authorized employee a PIN.

For vendor information you can visit the Wright Express's website at www.Wright Express.com.   To obtain information concerning our use of the Wright Express Fuel Management  System contact the Automotive Service Desk, between 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, except holidays (EST).
 

Vehicle Wash Bay
 

Vehicle Wash Bay

Our Automotive Service Center is equipped with an outside Wash Bay, located on the north side of the HT building.  Vehicle cleaning and washing equipment and supplies are available, during normal business hours to all MCG vehicle users.  For more information about our Wash Bay facility contact the Automotive Service Desk, at (706) 721-4667, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, except holidays (EST).
 

Administrative Support Services

Vehicle Services provides the following administrative support services:

  • Vehicle registration
  • Maintaining records on titles, tags, fuel users and vehicle users
  • Assistance with insurance claims involving campus-owned vehicles
  • Assistance with vehicle specifications and purchasing of new vehicles
