At this stage, your child is beginning to develop socially. Children at the preschool age are interacting more with their peers, instead of playing individually. This age group still learns primarily through interacting within their environment and through play.
The environment should have learning centers set up for children that encourage dramatic play, such as housekeeping, a book area, arts and crafts, science centers; such as sand and water play, etc.
By this time, most children are potty trained. Bathroom facilities should be present for children, but safety equipment should still be in place and children should be monitored when in the bathroom.
Children are learning to socialize with their peers and learning about how to treat one another. Activities that allow for a variety of interactions should be made available.
Parents should be receiving information about their child’s day, whether through posted activities, or through an individual checklist.
