Chancellor Davis inaugurated
Erroll B. Davis Jr. was formally invested as chancellor of the University System of Georgia Wednesday, Sept. 13 at 2 p.m. in the House of Representatives Chamber at the Georgia State Capitol, a rare use of this historic facility. A reception followed in the Capitol Rotunda.
The public event featured remarks from Gov. Sonny Perdue, greetings from USG presidents including MCG President Daniel W. Rahn, faculty and staff from the University System, the investiture, the presentation of a special medallion to the chancellor, followed by the chancellor’s Inaugural Address. Regent Allan Vigil, chair of the Board of Regents, presided over the ceremonies.
