Open enrollment closes Dec. 1

Once a year, MCG employees have the opportunity to make adjustments to their benefit plans. This open enrollment period is the only time changes may be made to group insurance coverage other than the first 31 days of employment or within 31 days of a qualifying event such as marriage, divorce or the birth or adoption of a child.

Changes with the University System of Georgia and BlueCross/BlueShield have made it necessary for Human Resources to implement a shorter time frame this year. Open enrollment, which began Nov. 13, will close Dec. 1 to allow timely processing of changes and distribution of new insurance cards by Jan. 1, when new coverage becomes effective.
