Dear Readers,

I wanted to let you know this will be my final issue as Beeper publisher and to take this opportunity to say thank you to all of you who are loyal Beeper readers and supporters. It has been my privilege to serve as publisher of this paper since June of 1990, a period that spans more than 400 issues of the Beeper and almost 4.5 million copies produced.

Along with any new editor or publisher will come changes, whether immediate or gradual. Change is often synonymous with progress. Some of your favorite features may disappear — along with some you perhaps never particularly cared for — but new favorites will likely appear in their place over time. Through it all, keep reading the Beeper. It's a great source of information about the place where you work and the people and patients you rub shoulders with every day. The Beeper's new editor, Sharron Walls, is an excellent journalist and manager whom I believe will be a great asset to this paper in the days and months ahead.

Over the years I've heard from many hundreds of you with classified ads, with feedback about the Hidden Name Contest, the cartoons which made a brief appearance on these pages, the gardening and recipe contests, and comments about the Beeper in general. I won't be someone to direct production or publishing opinions about the paper to anymore, but I nevertheless hope many of you will take the time to drop me a line whenever you're so inclined. My website (www.graphic365.com) will remain up and running. Please click "Contact us" and say hello any time.

Thanks again, and best wishes.

Daniel Pearson
