The 12 Bands of ChristmasKids’ contest deadline approaches

The 12 Bands of Christmas, an annual concert to benefit the Tamara Cundey Dunstan Memorial Fund at the MCG Children’s Medical Center, is having an art contest for kids under 12.

The winner’s original Christmas artwork will become the official 2006 12 Bands of Christmas design and will appear on this year’s CDs and posters. The winner also receives a $100 prize.

Artwork must be drawn or painted on paper in the artist’s medium of choice and submitted before 6 p.m., Monday, July 3, to Joe Stevenson Music, 2536 Henry Street, Augusta, Ga., 30904, attn: 12 Bands 2006 Art Submission. For more information and a submission form, visit www.12BandsOfChristmas.com.

The Tamara Cundey Dunstan Memorial Fund was established in memory of Mrs. Dunstan, a nurse at the Children’s Medical Center who wanted to see children given opportunities not readily available to them. Over the past three years, the 12 Bands of Christmas concert has raised over $90,000 to support events and activities for patients and their families.
