Blissit Award nominations sought

Nominations are sought for the 2006 Erie P. Blissit Award, which honors active, full-time classified employees with at least one year of continuous employment who perform administrative support services and deserve special recognition for outstanding service.

This award is funded by an endowment established by James A. Blissit, MCG vice president and treasurer emeritus. The award is in memory of his wife, Erie, who retired from MCG after 30 years of service, including 17 as an administrative assistant to the president.

To nominate an employee, pick up a nomination packet from the HR receptionist desk or visit http://www.mcg.edu/hr/training/Nomination%20Packet%202006.doc.

Include a copy of the employee's job description and examples showing how the employee exceeds normal job requirements. Letters of support, documentation of outstanding performance and information regarding continuing education are strongly recommended.

Nominees will be judged in areas of customer service, teamwork, continuous improvement, interpersonal skills, quality and delivery of service.

Deadline for nominations is Aug. 14 at 5 p.m. Previous winners are not eligible.

The recipient will receive a cash award during the Oct.12 Employee Recognition Ceremony, and have his name added to the plaque in the Human Resources Division.

For more information, contact Debra Arnold at ext. 1-3196 or darnold@mcg.edu.
