Employee council updates just a click away

Have a suggestion for improving an institutional procedure? Need feedback on how to file a grievance? The MCG Employee Advisory Council is the venue for employee suggestions, complaints or questions.

The representative body formed in 2005 was designed to facilitate communication among employees and MCG leadership. To better serve the employees of MCG, the council’s representatives have developed a Web page. At www.mcg.edu/eac, employees can submit comments to the council or review meeting minutes and bylaws.

“The Employee Advisory Council exists for the benefit of all MCG staff and needs input from the staff to be successful,” said Rita Lovering, chair of the council. “We are excited about this new communication pathway and encourage all staff to use the EAC Web site or contact one of the members to ask your question, make your observation or submit your suggestion.”

The site includes a listing of current council members with contact information and a description of the area that they represent. There are also forms to post comments or concerns, or to nominate an employee to the council.

“We believe that the Web site can be an effective tool to reach out to the employees and keep them informed about important matters and to allow them to provide input and address concerns,” said Cameron Andrews, the representative from the School of Medicine clinical sciences. “The site provides an easy and confidential way for MCG employees to submit comments and they can also choose to receive a response in return.”
