Relay for Life
The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life “2006 Mission Possible”
will be held May 5-6 at the Family Y on Wheeler Road. Volunteers are needed
in numerous capacities to make the event a success. For more information,

Sertoma Valentine dance
The MCG Sertoma Club will host a Valentine Dance Friday, Feb. 10, at 8 p.m.
at Julian Smith Casino with music by the Fantastic Shakers and dance
instruction from the Augusta Shag Club. The cost is $10 per person or $5 for
MCG students with identification. Proceeds benefit MCG Speech and Hearing,
Girls Inc., Camp Juliana, Make A Wish Foundation and other MCG charitable
organizations. Advance tickets are on sale at Health Center Credit Union
locations on Harper Street and on the second floor of Annex II. For more

Friends of foster children
Georgia Safe, a non-profit therapeutic foster care agency, is collecting
suitcases, duffel bags and storage containers to be given to foster children
moving from home to home. Luggage can be dropped off at the Georgia Safe
Office, 4424 Columbia Road, Suite B, Martinez, or call 706-210-3435 to
schedule a pick up. A general interest meeting on parenting therapeutic
foster children will be held at Georgia Safe Feb. 4 from 10 a.m. to noon.

Lend a hand in an emergency
The Georgia 4 Disaster Medical Assistance Team is looking for all types
of health care workers as well as non-medical support staff to volunteer
emergency assistance during national disasters. Time commitments vary and
all amounts of participation are accepted. For more information, contact

MCG Arts Council seeks performers
Performing artists – solo, group, instrumental, vocal and dance – from
the MCG community are needed for the MCG Arts Council’s Noon Arts Conference
Series. To share your talents during these free midday concerts, contact Dr.

Sing about it
MCG faculty, staff and students with vocal talent are needed for the MCG
chorus. All are welcome to join rehearsals Mondays at 5:30 p.m. in the Large

Blood donors needed
The MCG Blood Donor Room is seeking donations of all types. All blood
drawn at the MCG Blood Donor Room is used for MCG patients. To donate, call
ext. 1-3694, or stop by the Blood Donor Room on the first floor of the
Sydenstricker Building, room 1200.
Hispanic clinic seeks staff
Physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, social workers,
residents and medical students are needed to assist at the St. Vincent de
Paul Clinic at the Salvation Army on Greene Street on the third Wednesday of
each month. Health care workers fluent in Spanish are especially valuable
for this clinic designed for the Hispanic community. For more information or

Habitat helpers needed
The MCG chapter of Habitat for Humanity seeks student, employee and
faculty volunteers interested in providing affordable housing for area
