Black History Month activities scheduled
The Medical College of Georgia will celebrate Black History Month with a variety of programs.
On Friday, Feb. 17, Joseph Norman, director of the drawing and painting program for the Lamar Dodd School of Art at the University of Georgia, will present an artist’s lecture at 11 a.m. in room 1106 of Pavilion III.
Dr. Thomas Poole, associate vice provost for educational equity at Pennsylvania State University, will speak about campus diversity at noon on Tuesday, Feb. 28 in the Small Auditorium.
The Greenblatt Library will exhibit African-American contributions to medicine in Georgia on the second floor throughout the month. The exhibit, free and open to the public, contains information on pioneers in Augusta, including MCG’s first African-American graduates. Library hours are Monday-Thursday, 7 a.m. to midnight; Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, noon to midnight.
