Often called Huntington's chorea, HD is a hereditary disease. The loss of neurons in areas of the brain that control movement and cognitive functioning results in the progressive decline of motor skills, memory, and rational judgement. American folk singer Woody Guthrie is often cited as one of the prominent victims of Huntington's Disease.
