Patients are often referred to the CEP to determine if they are a candidate for epilepsy surgery. Many patients are unable to control their epilepsy with medication and may eliminate or reduce their seizures through removal of the area of the brain that causes seizures. At the CEP, we understand that the decision to begin an epilepsy surgery evaluation is a difficult one. Our goal is to provide you with information to make your decision and evaluation easier. Every person's seizures are unique and for that reason there are many different tests that may be necessary to determine if you are a candidate. You may undergo some or all of the testing listed. You may find this information overwhelming or confusing. Please contact us at any time if you have questions.
