Clinical Interests

  • Neuropsychological assesssment of adults, adolescents, and children referred for evaluation off cognitive and personality functions with known or suspected brain disease or trauma
  • Intracarotid sodium amobarbital (Wada) procedures on epilepsy surgery candidates (children and adults) to determine cerebral dominance for language and memory
  • Cortical mapping of sensorimotor and language areas and evaluation of memory during neurosurgery (and from chronically implanted electrode grids) to minimize postsurgical deficit

Research Interests

  • Human cerebral hemispheric specialization for memory functions
  • Language, emotional expression, and other cognitive functions during intraoperative monitoring, functional fMRI, and pre- and post-temporal lobectomy
  • In utero effects of antiepileptic drugs on neurodevelopment.
