Why did you choose the iPhone and iPod Touch and not the Blackberry or other devices to deliver content?
Our goal is to provide the fullest functionality possible for delivering content important to you. At this time, the iPhone and iPod Touch provide the richest multimedia mobile environment available.
We do provide some basic services to most modern web-enabled mobile devices. You can find those services on your device by opening the browser, and going to http://m.mcg.edu.
But my Blackberry does have multimedia capabilities, so why didn’t you develop an application for the Blackberry?
Unfortunately the mobile version you see for the your Blackberry is a bit dull. This is not necessarily a limitation of the Blackberry, but due to our desire to accommodate as many different mobile devices as possible. As many of these devices come from different technology generations, they have a great range of idiosyncrasies, and even with device targeting, it is a herculean task to serve the finest design assets to each device. Accordingly, the mobile version is a one size fits all. And sadly, one size fits all...fits none particularly well.
That being said, there will be a future version of MCG Mobile specifically designed for the Blackberry that will be much improved. In addition, we will continually evaluate the needs of our customers as well as the development in mobile devices and develop our applications and services accordingly.
