Button: Figure Drawings Button: Still Life Studies

This page serves as the portal to samples from applicant portfolios. These samples are organized into three galleries: hands drawings, figure drawings and still life studies.

The portfolio is a vital component of the admissions process. We use the portfolio to assess a prospective student's prior artistic training and current abilities. The successful applicant's portfolio will clearly demonstrate:

  • Advanced ability in drawing the human figure from observation
  • Sound draftsmanship in rendering fromdirect observation, including expression of contour, proportion, perspective, form, light and shadow, tonal values and surface textural detail
  • Accurate interpretation of color in realistic still life studies
