Populate an EndNote Library: Direct Import method (PubMed)

  1. Search PubMed MEDLINE.
  2. Mark PubMed records to copy into EndNote.
  3. At Display pull-down menu, choose MEDLINE format; click Display. (Fig. 13)
  4. At Send To pull-down menu, choose File; click Send To. (Fig. 13)
  5. At file download window, choose Save.
  6. Select locaiton in "Save As" box.
  7. Name file and add ".txt" to change file type to plain text (do not pick default fcgi).
  8. Click Save.

Open EndNote 7.0 and choose an EndNote Library to import the saved references.

  1. File > Import. (Fig. 17)
  2. At Import Data File, retrieve the plain text file by clicking Choose File...
  3. At Import Option, choose PubMed (NLM). (Use "other filters..." link to locate and choose other EndNote import filters).
  4. Click Import.
