Creating a Bibliography from EndNote Controlling output Begin a bibliography by properly formatting references in an EndNote Library. EndNote uses a “Style Manager” feature to control the specific style or output from EndNote references. There are hundreds of bibliographic styles available. Examples in EndNote include: APA, New England Journal of Medicine, Nature, and Reference Manager (another bibliographic software package similar to EndNote). The Style Manager is not perfect, but it will reduce the amount of copyediting necessary to prepare a text for publication: 1. Open an EndNote Library (*.enl). 2. File > Output Styles > select a style displayed or choose Open Style Manager 3. Open Style Manager option opens an EndNote Styles box (Fig. 16):
Repeat steps 1 and 2; the selected output style should appear.
Cannot find a style? Try the EndNote support and services site to locate and download a style: http://www.endnote.com/support/ensupport.asp
