Electronic Reserve Services: Just in Time and 24-7 |
Have you ever experienced the frustration of needing to read, copy or view
an item that your instructor had placed on library reserves, only to be told
repeatedly that the item was in use, had been lost or misplaced, or was
otherwise not available? Have you ever tried to purchase a textbook or course
supplement, only to find that it was out of stock, out of print, or the
nearest library with a copy was many many miles away? Worst of all, have you
totally forgotten about an assigned reserve reading until the night before
the test, and then discovered that the library was closed? |
The new Electronic Reserves function through the GIL catalog of the
Greenblatt library should make these problems much less troublesome for MCG
students and faculty in the future. You should note that this is not
intended to replace the electronic reserves function available through WebCT.
That is still an option for those teaching faculty who wish to use that
method. The GIL Electronic Reserves may be used by all faculty, whether or
not they are teaching through Web CT. Gil Electronic Reserves are accessible
through the main library catalog by following these easy steps: |
If the item is on electronic reserve the screen will display the notation: Linked Resource: http://www.library.mcg.edu/ereserves |
Clicking on that link will bring up the Instructor's name, which is also a link to the list of all electronic reserves posted for that faculty member by Greenblatt Library. Accepting the Copyright statement will bring up a password box. Input the password given to you by the instructor to access the reserve file, which is in .PDF format. |
