Library Memberships

Individual Membership
Individual memberships are available only to individuals having a local address, which includes Augusta and suburbs, and North Augusta/Aiken and suburbs. Individual library memberships are nontransferable and are not to be used by groups. A maximum of three books may be checked out at a time under terms of individual membership.

Cost of Greenblatt Library memberships for non-MCG holders are as follows:
Annual Membership $100.00
Semi-Annual (6 Months) Membership $60.00

Circulation and Use of Materials
Individuals and Institutional members may use the following materials in the Library and/or as photocopied items: audiovisuals, bound journals, unbound journals, reference materials, and special collections materials. (Please see copyright restrictions related to photocopying of Library materials.)

Circulation Periods
Books (monographs) - 4 weeks; renewal available either at the LInC Desk or by telephone (give your barcode or social security number). No renewal on overdues or materials on hold.

All other materials - Library use only.

Hold Service
The Library will place a hold on needed materials which are checked out, and will notify the requester upon return of the materials. Books will be held for three days and may be picked up at the LInC Desk.

Overdue Policy
A courtesy reminder will be sent on overdue items.* This will be followed by a billing letter if items are still outstanding.

A fine of 50 cents per day per item will accrue on all overdue materials. Checkout privileges will be suspended upon accrual of any unpaid fines.

*Failure to receive an overdue or fine notice will not be considered cause for canceling a fine.

Lost Materials
Lost or misplaced materials should be reported promptly to the LInC Desk. Fines are not charged after the loss is reported so the Library borrower may search for the material. Payment must be made by the end of thirty (30) days if the material is not located. Replacement charges for lost materials include the current price of the item, a $15.00 processing fee, plus any overdue fines which may have accrued before materials were reported lost. Refunds cannot be made for any lost and paid materials which are subsequently located and returned.

Recovery of Library Obligations
Individual or corporate membership borrowers having outstanding Library obligations will be held responsible for paying any and all charges incurred by the Library, including attorney's fees, collection agency fees, etc., associated with the recovery of materials, replacement costs of materials, overdue fines and / or any other fees owed to the Library.
