Chair, Content Management/Assistant Professor

The Medical College of Georgia Greenblatt Library invites applications for Chair, Content Management who will be responsible for managing the acquisition, organization, and access to the collections of the library. This position offers the challenges and opportunities of managing an area of emerging technologies, standards, and content delivery. This person must be able to manage people and processes, enjoy the transformation of the library environment, and stimulate professional inquiry. With faculty rank and status, this position reports to the Director of Libraries and supervises four faculty, two staff, and a staff unit head with three staff.

Required: a master’s degree from an ALA-accredited library school; substantial experience managing technical library operations and integrated library systems; minimum of two years of supervisory experience; knowledge of the environment for access to electronic resources and its trends; familiarity with applying cataloging, classification and vocabulary standards; ability to perform as a faculty member in areas of education, scholarship and service.

Preferred: experience in a health sciences library or other health sciences environment, membership in the Academy of Health Information Professionals

Faculty status (non-tenure track) and rank. Competitive benefits package, including TIAA/CREF and other retirement options. Minimum salary is $53,000, depending on experience. Priority review of applicants will begin October 15 and continue until position filled.
