ITSS Project Management Office

Overview

The ITSS Project Management Office (PMO) aims to instill project management discipline. Our primary goal is to improve project success rates by implementing standard practices and processes across all IT-related projects. Cutting costs and improving on project delivery (time, resources, and budget) increases MCG’s ability to deliver information technology solutions in a way that best contributes to accomplishing the University's mission.

Project Request Process

In general, the work of the ITSS PMO begins as the customer completes the Project Request Form and submits it to the ITSS Service Desk so that the ITSS PMO can begin analysis. Once the request is received, the appropriate ITSS resources will meet with the customer within 2 weeks.  The goal of this meeting will be to review the project request and answer any additional questions needed to perform the analysis.  After the appropriate information is gathered, senior ITSS management will review the preliminary project evaluation.  As part of this review, a decision will be made as to how this work effort will be managed.
