PC/Mac Minimum Specifications

Dell is the manufacturer of choice for all MCG PCs. All requests for PCs other than Dell will require justification for the exception.  Additionally, any requests for computers with specifications below the above listed standards will require an exception justification.  Exceptions will be requested by completing Exceptions Request Form (1 page PDF form).

Notes:

• The PC Standards Committee will meet annually to review and update the MCG PC Standards.
• Standard Configuration includes choice of chassis (I.E., Minitower, Small form factor, etc.
• MCG PC standards require Enterprise business-class models such as the Dell Optiplex and Latitude.  Home use and small business class computers such as the Inspiron, XPS, and Vostro are not supported by MCG.
• If wireless networking capabilities are purchased 802.11a/g should be specified.
• PCs should be refreshed every three to five years depending on the type of use
