Getting Connected through the Wireless network

MCG has an "open" network similar to any other public wi-fi access. While there have been no reported incidents of "wireless piracy" on the open network, it is possible for your signal to be intercepted and your privacy compromised. Because of this, it is recommended that you refrain from online banking, online shopping or any other activity that involves sensitive personal information while using this network. The open network SSID is not broadcast, so it cannot be discovered and used by anyone who does not already know it.

Wireless access to the internet is available throughout academic and administrative buildings on MCG's campus. In order to use the wireless network, you will need to login using your MCG netID through your browser of choice. Login to wireless network now.

Wireless Configuration

You may need to set up your computer for wireless access. To do this, you can visit the service desk or, if you are comfortable setting up a wireless network connection on your computer, you will need the following information.

Wireless Configuration Information - MCG Login Required

If you encounter difficulties, please visit the IT Service Desk in the Greenblatt Library for assistance. Simple wireless setups generally take about 10 minutes to complete. If you wish to connect to the campus encrypted network and do not have current, up-to-date antivirus protection, please allow an additional 30-45 minutes for updating your software.

If your antivirus software is expired or you do not have any antivirus software at all, we offer Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition software free of charge to students and employees.
