VPN (Virtual Private Network)A virtual private network (VPN) is a network that uses a public telecommunication infrastructure, such as the Internet, to provide remote offices or individual users with secure access to their organization's network.
Many licensed databases and other electronic resources are only available while on campus or connected to the Medical College of Georgia network. A VPN client is needed for faculty, staff and students to access online resources from off-campus.
