GTA Standards

Special Contracts
The Georgia Technology Authority (GTA) is the State's designated telecommunication service provider for all State Agencies. In addition to product supply and maintenance, GTA negotiates contract and service pricing advantageous to all State agencies. Among the more prominent contracts and services:

  • The state's long distance carrier is QWEST.
  • Major cable installation is provided by a state contracted agency, monitored by GTA and ITSS. Users having need of building cabling should contact ITSS -Telecommunications (721-3985) for assistance.
  • The State of Georgia offers Long Distance Calling Cards for employees who travel or are required to make official business long distance calls while away from their workplace. Call 721-3985 for assistance.
  • GTA provides a detailed monthly billing of activity on each phone account. The bill includes a breakdown of equipment, long distance charges, work order charges and special billing charges.
  • GTA and ITSS provide consultation service for the design of departmental phone systems.
  • GTA and ITSS provide training on all type of telecommunications equipment and services.
