NetStorage provides simple, Internet-based access to file storage from any Internet-connected computer, anywhere in the world – with nothing to download or install on your workstation. With NetStorage, you can securely access the MCG network to copy, move, rename, read, write, delete and recover files on MCG file servers (depending on access privileges), making it unnecessary to e-mail or copy data from one computer to another.
NetStorage provides access to your network-shared files through either a standard Web browser or any WebDAV client, such as Microsoft Web Folders. Logging into NetStorage automatically finds any drive mappings assigned to you and presents them for access. Drive mappings, in this instance, are letters or names assigned to virtual drives. And, if you regularly access other storage areas on the MCG network that lack drive mappings, they can be made available in NetStorage by contacting the IT Service Desk.
