Connecting to NetStorage via WebDAV

Macintosh Instructions:

The Mac OS has native support for WebDAV, it doesn't have native support for WebDAV over SSL (which encrypts and provides security for your transmission). Therefore, you'll need to download a different WebDAV client. ITSS recommends Goliath for Macintosh systems. You can use Goliath to access your NetStorage account securely from both on-campus and off-campus.

The most recent version of Goliath may be downloaded at: http://www.webdav.org/goliath

A version of Goliath is available for both users using MacOS X or newer and prior "Classic" versions running MacOS 9 or older. Once you have downloaded the correct version, double-click on the Goliath installer icon to begin installation.

When you run Goliath, you will be prompted to provide the URL for the new WebDAV connection:

  • https://net.mcg.edu/oneNet/NetStorage - for all of your share volumes in one connection
  • https://net.mcg.edu/oneNet/NetStorage/DriveH@SHARE/ - for Departmental Share Directory
  • https://net.mcg.edu/oneNet/NetStorage/DriveF@netID/ (replace "netID" with your MCG NetID - i.e. jsmith) - for Personal Home Directory
  • https://net.mcg.edu/oneNet/NetStorage/DriveR@HUMAN/ - for Human Research volume (limited availability)

Be sure to enter the "s" in "https://". You must also enter your MCG netID User Name and Password.

  • If this is the first time Goliath has been used to access NetStorage you may be prompted with a "Security Alert". Choose to "Install Certificate" by clicking the checkbox and then click the OK button.

  • Once you successfully connect, you should see your NetStorage folders.
