Set a default home page

Internet Explorer

• Click Tools and select Internet Options
• In the Home Page section enter in the Address text box, the web address of the page you want to have as your home page.
• Click OK.

Note:
We urge you to set the home page to an on campus site to reduce network traffic. We suggest you set the home page to the MCG home page at http://www.mcg.edu

Netscape

After installation, Netscape's default home page (the page that displays when Netscape is launched) is set to be the home page of the Netscape site. You should change this to an MCG page if you're setting-up the browser on a machine here on campus. This reduces campus network traffic going out to the Internet.

If you're not connected to the Internet, Netscape may give an error message saying that it can't locate the home page. Click OK and continue with the steps below:

• Select Edit | Preferences from the menu bar.
• Check that Home Page is selected under the Navigator Starts With section on the right.
• In the Home Page section in the Location text box, enter the web address that you want Netscape to open to when it is launched.

Most MCG users will want to place "www.mcg.edu" in the box to connect to the MCG Home Page.
