E-mail

ITSS provides everyone with an initial 300 MB of e-mail storage space on the MCG network. You can increase your quota, if necessary. The network is backed up daily, so you never have to worry about a catastrophic loss of the e-mail system. Use the "Get Software Now" link in the left naviagtion menu.

Mobile Access: ITSS provides connectivity to the campus-wide e-mail system through supported mobile devices: BlackBerry, Apple iPhone and iPod Touch. The mobile solution provides updated information via the cellular provider to a supported device consisting of the following: e-mail, personal address book, and calendar.

Messaging

ITSS offers support for instant messaging, a popular and convenient real-time tool for communication with people at MCG and elsewhere. MCG uses an campus-wide instant messaging system for IM because of its open standards based approach, security, and the availability of software for multiple platforms. Use the "Get Software Now" link in the left naviagtion menu.

Mobile Communication

In addition to supported mobile e-mail access, ITSS offers other mobile communication tools.

MCG Alert is a mass notification system specifically designed to assist universities in instantly disseminating emergency information to students, faculty, staff, and designated groups. During crises or other time-sensitive events, MCG will use this system to broadcast pertinent information, breaking developments, and appropriate response measures.

MCG Mobile provides our students and faculty with the services and content they require — delivered when they want, where they want it and how they want it. Services such as a map, directory, events, news and other features keep you connected to the university whether you are on campus or a world away using your iPhone or iPod Touch.

We also offer a suite of medical applications for our students and faculty that can be downloaded using your MCG NetID.
