Tech Fair bigger, better than ever

by Jennifer Hilliard

Campus gadget geeks and the technology-impaired alike enjoyed the sixth annual MCG Tech Fair March 12.

This year's fair, which was held in the Wellness Center for the first time, entertained more than 1,000 visitors from across campus. Attendees were introduced to the latest in health care technology and had a chance to register for prizes, including a Nintendo Wii, a free reserved parking spot for a year and gift certificates to local businesses.

"Everyone really seemed to like the change in venue," says Becky Rogers, tech fair organizer and manager of the IT Services Project Management Office. "The response to this year's event was overwhelmingly positive. Our goal is to make each year's fair bigger and better than the last."

Each year, the Tech Fair introduces students, faculty and staff to the latest technology related to all facets of the institution's work.  The goal is to demonstrate how technology can enhance patient care, research and teaching in a fun and functional way, Ms. Rogers says.
