IPP Printing for Macintosh OS X

Note: These instructions are for Mac OS X with ipp only. If you do not have Mac OS 10.1 or above you will need to upgrade before you can print using ipp.

1. Check the list of campus printers available through iPrint. From the list of printers choose the printer you wish to use and copy the printer name i.e. XX123_HP4000N_PA.
2. Double Click on Print Center or Printer Setup Utility (located in the Applications>Utilities folder on your Hard Drive) and HOLD option key and click the Add Printer button.



3. Click on the Drop Down menu and Select Advanced



4. Under Device Select Internet Printing Protocol Using IPP.



5. Enter the printer name in the Device Name: space and the printer address in the Device URL: space.
   Note: The URL will be ipp://print.mcg.edu/ipp/printer_name_PA substituting printer_name_PA with the printer name you located in Step 1.
6. Select the printer model.
7. Click Add and then close the Print Center.

Now you're ready to Print!
