Outlook 2007 POP account setup instructions

1. Click Tools, then Account Settings.
2. Under the Email tab, Click New…
3. Enter your Full Name in the Your Name: field.
4. Enter your Email address in the E-Mail Address: field.
5. Check Manually configure server settings or additional server types, then click Next.
6. Select Internet Email, then click Next.
7. Select POP from the Account Type drop down menu.
8. Enter pop.mcg.edu as the Incoming mail server.
9. Enter smtp.mcg.edu as the Outgoing mail server (SMTP).
10. Enter your MCGnetID in the User Name: field and uncheck Remember Password.
11. Click More Settings.



12. Click the Outgoing Server tab.
13. Check My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication with the option Use same settings as my incoming mail server selected.
14. Click the Advanced tab.
15. Select the check box This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL).  The Incoming server (POP3): port number should change to 995.
16. Select TLS for the selection box Use the following type of encrypted connection.  The Outgoing server (SMTP): port number should stay the default value of 25.



17. Click Next then Finish.
18. Close the Account Settings Window.
