Setting up POP access in Microsoft Entourage

Double-click on the Microsoft Entourage icon.  If the icon is located in the dock, then you only need to single-click.

After a brief splash screen...

...the program will start.

From the tools menu, select Accounts.

The accounts window will open.

Click on the new button (when you place the mouse on the word "New" at the top left of the window, it will turn into this button.

The new account window will open.  You can either choose to create a POP account or an IMAP account.  POP is already selected, so just click the "OK" button.

Fill in the blanks with the correct information.  The account ID is the part of your e-mail address to the left of the @ symbol.  Once you fill in everything, click on the button just below the SMTP server box.

Put a check in the box the says "SMTP server requires authentication" by clicking on it.  Then, click the tiny button at the very top left of this window to close it and return to the previous window.  Once there, click on the OK button.

You'll be back at this window which now lists your newly-created POP account.  Click on the red button at the top left of this window to close it.

From the "Tools" menu, select "Run Schedule", then "Edit Schedules".

The Schedules window will open.  Click on the line that reads Send & Receive All, then click on Edit (which becomes a button when the mouse is on it).

This window will open.  Click on the combo box that says "Manually".

A menu will pop up.  Select "Repeating Schedule".

Change the interval from 10 minutes to 1 minute, then put a check next to "Only if connected" and click on OK.  Finally, click on the red button at the top left of the Schedules window to close it.  Now, Entourage is set up to send and receive e-mail.
