The Microsoft Campus Agreement, which provides certain Microsoft software products at low or no cost to MCG employees, has been extended to MCG students, according to Information Technology Support & Services. Students no longer need to purchase expensive word processing, spreadsheet or database software for their personal computers.
What's available?
The agreement allows students to install the following software on personally owned computers used at school:
How do I get it?
Bring your computer to the IT Service Desk on the first floor of the Greenblatt Library for free installation. If you want a CD or DVD copy of the installation disc, a small fee will be charged for the cost of the media. The fee will be billed to your PULSE account, to be paid online the same way you pay your tuition and fees.
What about upgrading my operating system?
Upgrades to Windows XP or Windows Vista require a valid version of Windows installed. Before purchasing an operating system upgrade, verify that your computer meets the minimum system requirements for the new version and confirm that the manufacturer has updated drivers for all of your system components.
What happens when I graduate?
Students can keep the software installed on their machine if MCG’s license is still in effect when they graduate. Students leaving MCG prior to graduation must remove the software.
Questions?
See Software Help for information on the minimum system requirements for the Microsoft products covered by this agreement. For additional questions, contact the IT Service Desk at 1-4000 or
