Betty Meehan joined MCG in 2003. She began her fundraising career in 1989
at Walton Rehabilitation Hospital, where she successfully completed the
hospital’s first capital campaign and helped found the Walton Foundation for
Independence. She also served as director of institutional advancement and
executive director of the foundation at Augusta Technical College, where she
began the school’s annual fund program and launched its first endowed
scholarship initiative. Ms. Meehan earned a bachelor’s degree in English
from Augusta State University and a master’s degree in English from Georgia
Southern University. She is a certified fund-raising executive, past
president of the Greater Augusta chapter of the Association of Fund Raising
Professionals and a recipient of the 2003 Outstanding Fundraising
Professional Award from this Chapter.
