Department of Radiology within the area of Medical Physics is recruiting a tenure-track faculty member to establish a research laboratory in the exciting new field of multi-modality imaging in animals.  We are seeking a highly motivated individual who will be able to develop his or her own externally funded laboratory.  The ideal candidate would have experience in small animal molecular imaging, preferably in the field of micro PET, micro CT, and/or optical imaging.  Background in the field of ischemia/reperfusion injury along with physiological experience would be a plus.  Imaging modalities in the MCG Small Animal Imaging Program presently include MRI, with the expectation to include micro PET and micro CT.  Responsibilities include consulting with other investigators concerning the optimal use of various modalities to image small animals and assisting with the interpretation of imaging data.  The successful applicant will also participate with other faculty in the conduct of animal imaging studies (and other studies as appropriate) and will collaborate with other faculty in preparation of research proposals.
