A degree in medicine, veterinary medicine or Ph.D. in biological sciences with postdoctoral research experience is required.  Successful candidates are expected to establish active independent programs of extramurally funded research to complement research strengths and goals of the department and The Medical College of Georgia.  The department focuses questions of cellular signaling, neural regulation and hormonal control in a broad range of model systems of cardiovascular and renal disease.  Applicants are also expected to have teaching experience and be committed to teaching students in the schools of medicine, allied health sciences and graduate sciences.
