Authority

The President of the University is ex-officio chairman and presiding officer of the General Faculty Assembly, and is ex-officio chairman of the University Faculty Senate.

Responsibilities

    1. The President presides or designates the chairman of the MCG Faculty to preside at meetings of the MCG General Faculty Assembly. Assembly meetings are held in May and November.
    2. The President may call special meetings of the General Faculty Assembly. Items for the agenda of the General Faculty Assembly are discussed by the Executive Committee and the President prepares the agenda. The President is chair and an ex-officio member of the University Faculty Senate. The Chair of the MCG Faculty is Vice-Chair and presiding officer.
    3. The President is an ex-officio member of the Executive Committee of the University Faculty Senate.
    4. The President receives resolutions and reports on the work of the General Faculty Assembly and the University Faculty Senate at the end of the academic year and such other times as the Executive Committee may find desirable. The President forwards appropriate resolutions and reports to the Chancellor.
