---Ophthalmology Update---
The Thirtieth Annual
Resident-Alumni Meeting

June 23-24, 2006
The Ritz-Carlton Lodge,
Reynolds Plantation

Resident Graduation
43rd Graduating Class

This was the first year that we moved the meeting to a non-Augusta location.  For several years the alumni who have been coming to the meeting indicated that moving it closer to the Atlanta venue would be a nice change.  The Ritz-Carlton had many things for kids and families to do and there are many items around the Lake Oconee area for visitors to go, see and do.  These included things such as the infinity pool overlooking the lake, kayaking and canoeing, as well as s'mores each night outside the main lobby on the back lawn.

Our speakers for this years meeting were Dr. Jerry Shields and Dr. Carol Shields from Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia.  They spoke in each session of our meeting and presented an amazing array of ocular oncology and treatments.  They were very successful at making this important topic relevant to both comprehensive ophthalmologists and subspecialists.
