Highlights The mission of the Center for Health Care Improvement is to enhance the quality and effectiveness of health care delivery, through education in health care policy and practice, health services research, and the use of information systems for health care delivery. The CHI is a collaboration between the public and private sectors within the state as it offers an unrivaled opportunity to teach future generations of health care professionals about the changing health care market and to undertake research aimed at improving the effectiveness and efficiency of health care delivery. The CHI provides an opportunity for collaboration between Georgia's largest health maintenance organization, BlueCross BlueShield of Georgia and the state medical school, Medical College of Georgia Specifically, the creation of the CHI has brought many opportunities for research, education and health service development to BCBS-GA and MCG.
