HISTORY
The Center for Healthcare Improvement (CHI) was founded in the spring of 1998 as a collaborative venture between Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Georgia (BCBS-GA) and the Medical College of Georgia. Through this joint effort, a training program was established enabling medical students and residents to understand the principles of managed care and its impact on patient care in today's economy. Research projects emerged through this association yielding outcomes covering clinical and epidemiological issues, interventional cardiology practices, racial and ethnic profiling in managed care populations. These, in turn, have spawned numerous peer reviewed journal publications and national presentations.
