Purpose

This meeting for ophthalmologists will cover areas of research and clinical innovation in our field. Ophthalmology residents will present research followed by our guest speakers.

Objectives

At the conclusion of this meeting the learner should be able to demonstrate an increased awareness of advanced anterior segment surgical procedures and diagnoses. They also should improve their ability to diagnose and manage inflammation of the uveal tract.

This years meeting will be held at a resort on nearby Lake Thurmond in the city of McCormick, South Carolina (40 minutes north of Augusta). The lake is on the Georgia-South Carolina border with its 1200 miles of coastline is used annually by millions of people in the southeast for recreation, fishing and camping.

 

Savannah Lakes Resort has many amenities from it’s on site sports complex to their own houseboat which can be rented. There are 2 golf courses as part of the resort as well as miniature golf if the kids want to try out their short game! Additionally there is an outdoor pool with a kiddie pool, an indoor Olympic sized pool, fitness room, lighted tennis courts, a beach area down by the lake, a full service marina and even a bowling alley!

Lodging
In order to ensure availability for all participants our department has reserved all available rooms at this resort for this meeting. The room rate is $99/night.
